Full steam ahead - Scottish distillery with Grundfos
There’s steam and there’s high-quality steam. There are pump solutions and intelligent pump solution...
If you operate a production facility for food, beverage or pharmaceuticals, your equipment gives you three problems. One: the need for maintenance and repair. Two: the need to minimise the risk of contamination from any MRO chemicals. Three: the need to pass BRC, supermarket or FDA audits to meet HACCP and HSE requirements.
A traffic-light based colour-coding system for MRO chemicals – which has been tried and tested globally for 10 years – is now available in the UK.
Ambersil GREENLIGHT® is a simple but highly effective way to control MRO chemicals used in production zones where there is a risk of contamination. As the demand from auditors grows for more rigorous chemical control, it’s a solution which gives complete confidence that the risk of MRO chemical contamination is being actively controlled.
The first step is for the end-user to define their zones, according to the level of risk of contamination. A Red Zone is one where any product – even those not NSF (National Sanitasion Foundation) registered – can be used.
An Amber Zone is one where there is a higher risk of contact and contamination, therefore where caution is required in the choice of MRO chemicals used.
And, lastly, Green are safe for use in all zones, including those where there is a high risk of product contact, and therefore where all chemicals used must be ‘food safe.’
Adhering to this simple colour-coding regime will ensure that only MRO chemicals safe for a particular zone are ever used there.
The Ambersil GREENLIGHT® system is also designed to co-ordinate seamlessly with existing chemical control systems. The system is based on well-known and respected NSF category codes, used in conjunction with internal risk auditors and the zones users themselves to define a categorization regime that suits their own production requirements. The colour-coded visual guide also integrates with existing HACCP infrastructures.
Ambersil MRO products are supplied together with reels of coloured stickers. These are applied to the product containers according to the end-user’s zone categorisations. Meanwhile, each distinct zone will display a poster outside its entrance, colour matched to the MRO chemicals authourised for use in the zone.
