Run Smoothly with NSK Bearings

Research has shown that the world’s most widely used bearing is the ‘single row deep groove ball bearing,’ with both open and sealed standard variations.

‘Pre-greased for life’ bearings, with a seal at either side, contain enough grease to outlast the majority of general applications under normal operating conditions. This, in essence, saves on unnecessary maintenance, but reduces costs and the impact on OUR environment.

Fighting friction        

The dynamic co-efficient of friction of an open deep groove ball bearing is approximately 0.0013, resulting in a low torque operation, but by adding a contact seal to both sides, it increased torque and effectively the overall efficiency of the machine – in fact, by more than five times.

The innovative NSK solution combines the low running torque of a ZZ shielded bearing, with the contamination protection of DDU seals. The non-contact VV rubber seal is moulded so that the sealing lip sits tightly on the inner ring of all standard NSK deep groove ball bearings (10mm bore diameter upwards).

This provides a very fine clearance labyrinth with zero drag, low starting torque, maximum speeds, no excessive heat and, finally, increased grease retention and contaminant protection with the shielded design.
